The Pledge of Allegiance

I turned my head to my class during the Pledge the other day to see one of my sweeties with his hat over his heart, which in turn made my heart smile.💖

We continue our study of motion with vocabulary words such as rolling, axles, wheels, rotating, spinning, ramps, slopes, rolling and runways.

Last we began our study of motion by making tops and three different kinds of twirlers. The best way to test them was by dropping them from the Pond Cove lobby balcony. Today we made vehicles that we tested on ramps.

Thanks to the Hamptons!

For the delicious Irish snacks last Friday!

Midweek update

Mrs. Hannon, our school social worker, came to our classroom to teach a lesson today about following the group plan.  She heard some kids were having trouble cleaning up at the end of choice time, lining up at lunch time or when it's time to go to gym, or sitting quietly on the rug when it's time to learn.  Often kids were "following their own plan."  Does this ever happen in your FAMILY?  I bet it does!!!  Ask me at pt conferences this week!!!

Learning to read long words part-by-part (check out C's shirt!!!).

Editing Your Writing

Today we used an editing checklist with a partner to make our writing easier to read.

Mrs. G came on Wednesday to teach the kids about empathy, and seeing the world through someone else's perspective.
